Trial Tips
for Parents
WELCOME
Dear Parents, Thank you for choosing Seimpi School of Music's pioneering Early Childhood Music program, Music for the Intelligent Mind (MIM®) to be your child's first experience in music education.
Each of the MIM® level is carefully designed to suit the learning aptitude of the different age group. As children from early childhood age differ in intellectual, physical, linguistic, listening and cognitive skills, care must be given to the lesson planning so as to reap the maximum benefits of the 'window of opportunity' age.
We need to understand that actual birth date of each of our student to know how to allocate them to the right class. We would like to give you a brief description of some of the activities that you are expecting from an MIM® class. These are general guidelines.
For trial class (which may be in an ongoing class), teachers may not cover all of the following activities in 1 lesson and your child may take time to achieve the capabilities of the children you witness in the class, but the MIM® trainings will be gradually implemented into the whole course. Your child is strongly encouraged to participate in all the activities in the trial even though your child may not have any prior musical training.
Each activity has its own objective(s) and all these objectives prep the children to build not only a good foundation, but to develop certain aptitudes, disciplines to be able to transit smoothly to the graded studies in the future. All activities are appropriate at the various MIM® levels to facilitate both conscious and unconscious learning. Below are some general objectives of some MIM® activities
