PSLE Chinese Essay-writing Intensive Course
With less than six months leading up to the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE), our educators here at Seimpi Education understand that time is of the essence for our Primary Six students. Therefore, we have come up with a 2 day intensive course specially for them this June to strengthen their conceptualisation and consolidation processes during their study break. Our 2 day course will follow the PSLE format closely to familiarise our students with the exam, as well to mentally prepare them to tackle the actual examinations this coming September. These 2 days will be extremely pivotal in sharpening our students' skills in terms of grasping exam-smart answering techniques, and in exposing them to the standards the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) expects of them in 2019.
For Normal Chinese, essays are categorised into two question types, namely picture-based and situational writing. For the former, our teachers will guide our students closely in deciphering the five given pictures, thereafter prompting them to brainstorm on logical yet creative storylines as a form of essay planning. At the same time, they will ensure that our students are capable of using appropriate vocabulary to produce quality pieces of writing, which will definitely boost their performance in the graded language component.
Likewise for Higher Chinese, essays are similarly categorised into situational and continuous writing. For situational writing, our teachers place much emphasis on pre-essay planning, where our students will be taught to identify crucial keywords from the essay questions. From there, they will then be trained to conceptualize ideas and story outlines effectively using the 5W1H (who, what, when, where, why, how) approach. Our teachers will coach our students to utilise fast and effective ways to draft essay outlines, and to adequately apply appropriate vocabulary to perfect their writing.
We strongly believe that through this intensive June holiday intensive course, your child will be able to get a better grasp of essay-writing techniques and confidently ace their PSLE this September with flying colours.
小六会考作文冲刺班
小六会考距离现在不到半年的时间，时间所剩无几。趁着这个学校假期，诗韵学校将为所有的小六生提供一个三天的小六作文冲刺班。此课程会依据小六会考的作文题型与批改标准来进行教导。通过此课程，学生能更一步地掌握小六会考中各种作文题型的写作技巧以及教育局的批改标准。
小六会考中，普通华文的作文题型共分成两大类——看图作文与命题作文；高级华文的作文题型也分成两大类——命题作文与完成文章。在看图作文中，老师将教导学生们如何掌握好图意、并且合理性地进行写作与延伸。同时，诗韵学校的老师将教导学生如何把作文的架构写得更为扎实，并且适当地加上好词好句，以达到更高的分数。
在命题作文中，老师将教导学生如何抓住题眼、进行合理的联想，并且通过六要素拟出大纲，最后才开始下笔。如上，在完成文章中，老师也将教导学生如何通过提示的句子找出关键字、进行适当的联想，并且也是抓紧六要素写出大纲，最后才开始写作。
