Intro

Language is the very foundation on which we interact and communicate with others. Not only does language play a part in our daily interactions, but it also reflects one’s own development and upbringing. A person’s language development capabilities are greatly influenced by being in a positive environment rich with many different words, rhythms, and sounds. Language skill is, therefore, a carefully cultivated craft, instead of just a naturally-endowed talent.

Our Korean Language program is based on the needs of individuals who are not Korean native speakers. It primes students for language excellence, aiming to provide a solid foundation in oral comprehension, phonemic awareness, verbal presentation, and penmanship development. We not only teach students speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills in Korean, we also cultivate thinking, reflecting, and presentation skills. Through engaging students on a wide range of general and global issues, we will be able to stimulate their thirst for knowledge and cultivate their Korean phonemic awareness as they voice their opinions on topics carefully selected by us. Through the carefully selected teaching materials that immerse our students into the Korean literature and culture, our students will be guided holistically to appreciate and to apply their language skills.

Aims

The carefully planned syllabus is designed to:

  • Cultivate a lifelong love of the Korean Language

  • Achieve competency in a progressive manner

  • Build a solid foundation in speaking, writing, listening, reading with the presentation, reflective, thinking skills as an addition to the 4 main skills

  • Appreciate Korean Literature and culture that will benefit their Korean language studies and the overall well-being.
