“Effective Music Training In the Early Years”

 

Children of the early childhood ages possess the ability to learn different skills and absorb knowledge in fast speed. Educators call it as a “window of opportunity” period. Parents should understand how to grasp hold of this golden period for learning and maximize the learning capacity of their children. Music education plays an important role in these formative years. Music not only helps to develop the thinking brain, it also helps to develop the linguistic abilities of children. Children who have found to be musically inclined are generally capable in mastering a few languages at the same time.

 

Our speaker, Ms Flora Lim will talk about the benefits of music education in the early years. It will guide parents and early childhood educators in learning how to use different rhymes and songs to prep the mind to learn English Language more efficiently. She will also share some ideas in using music games and activities to boost the learning capacity of children of pre-school ages.

Early Childhood Music Teaching Workshop

 

Seimpi Education was officially set up in 2002 in Singapore. It is part of the Seimpi Group to further share our expertise and knowledge in music education. The success of our Music for the Intelligent Mind (MIM®) courses have prompted a lot of requests from adult learners to pursue a career in teaching early childhood music.

 

With our partnership with United Kingdom's renowned music institutions such as London College of Music, University of West London, we have raised the quality of our courses in both our teaching and performance to be on par with the international standard. This can be seen on the recent collaboration with London College of Music Examination in the recognition of our courses like Music for the Intelligent Mind (MIM®) and an official endorsement of our diploma preparatory course in the Early Childhood Music Teaching.

 

OBJECTIVES

 

Early Childhood Music Teaching Workshop is catered to individuals wanting to have the knowledge in teaching music to young children. In this workshop, participants would be suitably prepared with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct music classes for young children and they may choose to further pursue the Diploma in Early Childhood Music Teaching program, London College of Music Examinations (UK).

 

At the end of this course, participants are:

-  To be equipped with the necessary tools to communicate effectively to young children

-  To plan and deliver a taught music program for young children

-  To engage effectively in a range of teaching environment

Ms Flora Lim has accomplished for herself a distinguished career in music education with a record of highly acclaimed piano performances. She has been actively involved in music education for more than 20 years. She is now the Director/Principal for Seimpi Education in Singapore and Malaysia, and the founder of the innovative music program, Music for the Intelligent Mind (MIM). The MIM courses that she founded more than 10 years ago have been accepted as core program in the government funded childcare centres and kindergartens in Singapore, and several other reputable childcare chains in Singpaore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
